During the 2024 summer camp at Bonnie Academy, our students were treated to a unique and educational experience by visiting a petting zoo. This special event brought in a diverse range of animals, providing the students with a hands-on learning opportunity about different species in a fun and interactive way.
The highlight of the day was the students’ opportunity to ride ponies. It was a thrilling experience for many of them as they interacted with these gentle animals in a safe and supervised environment. In addition to pony rides, the students also had the chance to pet and feed various farm animals, including goats, sheep, and rabbits. The hands-on interaction with the animals provided a valuable learning opportunity, allowing the students to understand more about the behavior and care of these creatures.
Throughout the day, the students participated in educational sessions led by the petting zoo staff, where they learned about the different animals, their habitats, and their role in the ecosystem. These engaging sessions helped the students better appreciate wildlife and fostered a sense of responsibility towards the environment and animal welfare.
Overall, the petting zoo visit was not just a one-time event but a memorable and enriching experience that impacted the students. It gave them a deeper understanding of nature and animals, creating lasting memories of their summer camp at Bonnie Academy.
