We have a very exciting multicultural celebration coming up for the students of Bonnie Academy!
Multicultural Celebration and Poster/Cultural Artifact or costume.
We have talked a great deal about multiculturalism in our classrooms. The students are currently learning about different countries around the world. Our students will be celebrating their cultural heritage in school during the week of May 9th -13th, 2022.
In order to make this day successful and memorable, we are going to ask for help. We are sending home a white poster paper. We ask that you gather a few fun facts about your cultural background, the flag that represents the country, and a few pictures of you and your family, if possible. Please have your child do most of the work. If you have more than one nationality, please include them all on the poster.
We are also asking parents for one special souvenir, memorabilia, clothing, music or any interesting artifact you may have on your cultural heritage. If possible, provide an explanation of the artifact in a few sentences and attach it to the item. We will be collecting these items throughout the week. Your child can also dress in their cultural colors or folklore costume if available.
Food:
As an important part of our celebration of cultures, we are asking for all parents to provide a popular dish that represents their culture. Please remember that none of the dishes can contain any nuts or nut products. This event will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
